Paving and you - The real story

In recent years there has been an increase in DIY projects for many homeowners. With friendly and helpful in improving home stores, as well as hundreds of videos on how to make on-line, almost anyone can create, design and almost all employees complete the project. You have to have certain skills: creativity and vision, muscle and determination, as well as the implementation plan. Alternatively, you can type in something random with a pace that takes years to complete. I remember a neighbor who is planning a rock garden, and so she pulls a load of stones on your trusty truck. She left them and spread them around and return to base to charge 2 arrived and removed, or expanded with much less enthusiasm. And now, seven years later, a rock garden is still a mystery and the dream is likely to remain incomplete for life.

You, dear one dedicated to improving the house, has a plan that includes an indicative timetable, but precise and clear vision of the end. If you only have a weekend to do the job, check the size of your project to decide whether this is possible and plan accordingly. If you plan to paint the entire house inside and out and add new finishes, but willing to fail, unless you have a group of friends to see a cordial work. Even then, the group has too many assistants who usually offer too much advice can make your design dream fade to a distant spot.

This weekend, our family decided pavers. On Friday night after work we camped four clear areas (entrance, garden and promenade) offers more gravel piles and growing weeds encouraged and loved being thrown around left and right of the hole and replace the walls of organized clutter. The three areas covered about 600 square feet. We were lucky because the gravel can be excavated and shoveled in another area and was rather flat terrain below. Along with rakes, shovels, hoes, and then smoothed the surface and hit a level playing field. With about three hours, the first part of the project was complete.

My son Saturday morning led to the improvement store to buy a cube at home. For the road, he wanted thick pavers measuring 6x12x2, thick enough to support the additional weight of a parked car. The palette contains 180 stones, only for the project. Then he bought a thinner, larger step into the garden and walkway: 16x16x1. Ready to load the first pallets in the truck was discovered that the seller can not drive a truck and such a long wait has come as a battery can be acquired. After loading the pallet, said the salesman, "Oh, can not load all [3 range] will have to cancel the sale of tickets and buying burden suddenly startled face of my son. He fell, but the driver spoke no truck and said, of course you can back for more products that use original papers, what they lack skills to operate small equipment.

Finisher Charge # 1 was a breeze with only occasional re raking it is necessary to ensure a flat surface. After purchasing a stone knife, the final task is to correct the edges was long, but makes a nice finished project. Although it takes about four hours, the time spent in the store and discharge (about 6 hours total) meant that there was only daylight for a second recovered and discharged cargo and then return for a third. But it was good, the front was full and it looked great and tasted even better dinner after a hard day at work.

Day 3 led to the installation of garden and walkway. Again, the list has increased the installation speed of the surface. In a short period of time (six hours), the project was completed. The hardest part is to load each finisher one at a time (as they are very heavy), and then transported to the home and yard. Many measures were involved. Again some smoothing and cutting additional stones were needed, but with skill pavers firmly etched in our brains, on Sunday afternoon offered a nice backyard barbecue celebrates Paver project and that my grandson's son was driving his motorcycle race around and relaxed in the conducted luck.
